To everyone around the world connected through Budo

Thank you for always choosing Tozando.
As Covid-19 (Novel Corona Virus 2019) continues to affect the world as a whole, we are all being impacted by it both physically and mentally.
As we all find ourselves in a time of changing values, we may also find ourselves inquiring, “What is truly important?” Is it possible that the spiritual aspects of budo could be one of those important values? The original meaning of Hokodome (武) from Budo (武道) is to “put one’s sword back into the sheath.” It means to control strong self-ego or selfishness and bring peace by ending the fight.
It was after having considered this phrase, that the current logo of Tozando was created. The things we have learned through budo; having the respect and gratitude to train and face yourself, considering not only your opponent, but also your environment as well – these now become even more vital.
Now, more than ever, I believe that we are all looking to protect our loved ones and ourselves. We here at Tozando will not lose hope. Together, we will overcome these unfortunate circumstances.
Finally, for anyone who has been directly impacted by or lost someone to Covid-19, we wish to express our deepest and most sincere condolences. We also wish to express our hopes for the full and speedy recovery of anyone battling the ailment as well as our deepest gratitude to everyone in the medical community who are working so diligently to keep us safe.
